New York

New York is located in the Northeast region of the United States.  New York is the 27^th largest state, the 4^th-most populous state, and the 7^th-most densely populated state.  The state capital of New York is Albany, and four of the most populous cities in the state are Buffalo, Rochester, Yonkers, and Syracuse.  Two-thirds of the state’s population lives in the New York metropolitan area, and nearly 40% live on Long Island.  With an estimated 8.34 million residents, New York City is the most populous city in the United States, and one of the most populous cities in the world.
